Tagore International Film Festival
Tagore International Film Festival (TIFF) is a monthly live screening film festival with an annual live film screening mega award event in Bolpur.
The word Shantiniketan means “Abode of Peace”. It is built on the vision of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who wanted to create a space where people can interchange their ideas about art, culture and life in general. Bolpur’s air still breathes his energy, his passion and his free thinking. People from all over the world come to Bolpur to participate in the Poush Mela and Vasant utsav. Another unique feature of Bolpur is its lush greenery and Kopai River along the Sonajhuri forest in Khoai. The landscape purifies one’s soul.
Monthly live screenings of the film festival take place at the end of each month at an auditorium of Bolpur. The Sun Of The East Awards gala takes place every year at the most prestigious auditorium of Bolpur. All the monthly Award Winners from a year will be qualifying as nominees and contesting with each other in this process of selection to stand as the final Winner of the Winners.
Each month, most films of monthly award winners are screened in Bolpur.
Besides the best of the category awards, there are also OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS, AWARDS and HONOURABLE MENTION AWARDS, which are given, in all categories.
We support and nurture emerging independent filmmakers and their stories from around the world. We build a trusted community of filmmakers interested in making a difference.
We want to help indie filmmakers find success by celebrating their achievements with a plethora of different film awards. We embrace innovation and diversity to inspire excellence.
We introduce the work of risk-taking storytellers and filmmakers. We challenge ourselves to discover and develop independent filmmakers and audiences. We are a platform for filmmakers to present their films to the global audiences.

The officially selected films in each month receives TIFF laurel and certificate. All Monthly Award Winners receive laurel and customized certificate and are rated on our Film Festival‘s IMDb page (if applicable). Each month, most representatives of monthly award winners are screened in Bolpur.
The Sun of the East Awards gala will take place every year at the most prestigious auditorium of Bolpur. All monthly award winners will be automatically nominated for the prestigious SUN OF THE EAST AWARDS (the best of the best films) and they will be invited to attend our Annual Live Film Screening Gala in presence of juries, critics, film scholars and eminent movie personalities from across the globe. Films entered in multiple categories may win multiple awards!
